TCB’s 50’s jean, featuring a high rise and relaxed straight fit with a slight taper, is the flagship model at the heart of the brand, made with the utmost reverence for classic 50’s construction. Every single detail on this jean, from the pattern to the yarn count for each seam, has been carefully researched and thought through.
The fabric itself is made from 13.5oz Zimbabwean cotton on a vintage loom, which gives the material a natural unevenness and texture that can’t be approximated by computer-driven, mainstream manufacturing methods.
The paper patch is sewn on by hand. It’s just the right thickness so that once you’ve really started to establish a great fade, the patch will start to fray slightly at the edges, revealing the dark blue denim underneath that’s been shielded from the elements.
TCB’s commitment to preserving the spirit and quality of vintage denim manifests itself in many easily noticeable ways, but it also manifests itself in lots of hidden ways: for instance, that commitment goes even as far as the seams on the pocket bags. Historically, these seams were fairly coarse and came apart often; TCB has replicated the look and feel of these seams, except minus the flimsiness, so your pocket bags will stay intact no matter what you’re carrying.
