The Dude Ranch Shirt by TCB was made to replicate the iconic sawtooth shirt from the 1950’s, back when dude ranchers roamed the country in spades and western style was at its peak. Sawtooth shirts from the era characteristically feature flap pockets and that signature arching yoke on the back. TCB has even preserved the seam width that you’ll find on sawtooth shirts from the 50’s–a precise 7/32” seam.
The fit of the shirt is similar to the relaxed fit that you’ll find on original sawtooth shirts from the 50’s except its been slightly modified and slimmed down to work better in a contemporary wardrobe. According to their site, for the fit of this shirt TCB have thought more along the lines of “modern dude” than “Dude Ranch.”
Fabric-wise we’ve got a 8.5oz denim with a slightly irregular, textured feel to it. The cotton used for the fabric is grown in California and woven very slowly on rare vintage looms, prized for their ability to create that natural unevenness we like to call slub.
