Deep-water soloing is a type of rock climbing carried out directly over water and without safety harnesses. This means just the slightest slip and fall sends the climber into the water below. This has been known to be one of the most extreme types of rock climbing. Deep-water soloing is the main inspiration for the Aqua Solo.

The collaboration between Manastash and FRONTEER® was instant. Each brand brings unique products to the outdoor environment. Both have a respect for the past yet strive for the future. It was only a matter of time when their paths would cross to create this serendipitous moment.

This colorway is called "Nisshoku" which translates to "eclipse" in Japanese. Black is a very special color at FRONTEER® because it is only seen when there is an absence of sunlight. The sun gives us light and allows us to see the spectrum of colors on earth. Thus, when the sun is covered by the moon, the sun looks black. At FRONTEER®, the sun is our logo so all black colorways will be named eclipse as this is a metaphor for a black sun.
