The Nakagin Capsule Tower Building is a representative work of Metabolism architecture by architect Kisho Kurokawa. This collaboration item was created in order to pass on this wonderful architectural work to future generations, as it was demolished in April 2022.
The design is based on a logo inspired by "metabolism" and incorporates illustrations used in the blueprints and photographs taken at the time of construction.
■Nakagin Capsule Tower Building
Completed in 1972. It consisted of two towers of 11 and 13 storeys. A total of 140 capsule units were attached around the core of each tower, and each tower had a unique shape and structure. A work representative of Metabolism architecture designed by architect Kisho Kurokawa (1934-2007).
