How We Measure


  • MEASURING THE WAIST

    STEP 1: Button up the pair of jeans. Lay the jeans out on a flat surface with the top front edge of the waistband even with the top back edge and pull taut on the outside waistband corners.


    STEP 2: Using a fabric measuring tape, measure the top of the waistband from one side to the other.


    STEP 3: Double this to get the jeans waist measurement.



    MEASURING THE FRONT RISE

    STEP 1: Button up the pair of jeans. Lay the jeans out on a flat surface.

    STEP 2: Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the front of the jeans, as indicated by the photograph.

    STEP 3: This is the front rise measurement.



    MEASURING THE BACK RISE

    STEP 1: Button up the pair of jeans. Turn the jeans over with the back pockets facing up. Lay the jeans out on a flat surface.

    STEP 2: Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the back waistband of the jeans, as indicated by the photograph.

    STEP 3: This is the back rise measurement.



    MEASURING THE UPPER THIGH

    STEP 1: Lay the jeans out on a flat surface.

    STEP 2: Measure straight from the crotch to the outside of the leg parallel to the waistband as indicated by the photograph.

    STEP 3: This is the upper thigh measurement.



    MEASURING THE KNEE PART 1

    STEP 1: Lay the jeans out on a flat surface.

    STEP 2: Measure 13 inches from the crotch seam down the inside seam of the leg, as indicated by the photograph.



    MEASURING THE KNEE PART 2

    STEP 1: From this point, 13 inches down from the crotch seam, measure from one side of the pant leg to the other, across the width of the knee.

    STEP 2: This is the knee measurement.



    MEASURING THE LEG OPENING

    STEP 1: Lay the jeans on a flat surface with the outseams at both edges, indicated by the photograph.

    STEP 2: Measure across the leg opening from one edge to the other.

    STEP 3: This is the leg opening measurement.



    MEASURING THE INSEAM

    STEP 1: Lay the jeans out on a flat surface. Turn the inseam to the center of the leg, as indicated by the photograph.

    STEP 2: Measure from the crotch seam to the outer edge of the leg opening along the inseam of the leg.

    STEP 3: This is the inseam measurement.
